Bumbo Baby Seats Recalled Again

August 21, 2012

Last August 15, 2012, Bumbo International Trust and Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 4million Bumbo Baby Seats after nearly 20 reports of infant skull fractures since 2007. The CPSC already made a warning last November 22, 2011 about it where babies can wiggle themselves out or fall from this seat when their backs are arched or when leaning to any sides or even rocking. They also said that the seat should never be used on any raised surface.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately until the Repair Kit from Bumbo International Trust is fastened to the Baby Seat. The free repair kit includes a restraint belt, a warning label, installation instruction, and safe use instruction. (See picture)

For US Consumers who has the Recalled Baby Seat contact Bumbo and visit www.recall.BumboUSA.com or call 866-898-4999 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday and between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. CT on Friday. The seat will not be returned but Bumbo will send a Repair Kit via the request form.

For residents of Canada they can visit bumbocanada.com or email at info@bumbocanada.com or call 1-866-477-5144 toll-free.

Bumbo Baby Seat is now called the Floor Seat, so for parents and babysitters, keep in mind not to use it on any raised surface even when the belt is on. Even though products can be risks to our loved ones, it is still our responsibility to be vigilant on these risks, report them back and not wait until such playful actions of children lead to permanent damages or deaths.
